Valentina & Anastasia
Valentina and Anastasia came to me a few weeks after their birth. Usually, newborns are only flexible the first few weeks, so I’m glad that we could sneak in their twin newborn session and make everything work!
These twin beauties were born at just 34 weeks old and weighed less than 6 pounds each. They were very small even two weeks later when they came in for their session. However, they were so precious, and they posed just perfectly into the variety of scenery that our NYC studio has to offer.
Designing their Twin Newborn Session
While designing this twin newborn session, there was much that went into designing their color scheme. Mom and I chose many different wraps for the twins to use, as well as a variety of different backgrounds.
Mom wanted to stick to the pink and white color scheme, which is most popular for girls’ newborn sessions, so that’s just what we did.
The first picture posted above shows Valentina & Anastasia sleeping comfortably in a floral basket. They are wrapped in soft, pink linen and have cream floral headbands, to accent the florals surrounding them. The basket is made of twigs and white and pink florals, to pull the whole color scheme together.
This picture was done by standing above the twins, ensuring that I could get an even and well-lit picture of the twins from up above them.
In contrast, the photo above was done completely oppositely. Valentina & Anastasia are being held by mom in a black-and-white portrait. They are still wearing their pink wraps and floral headbands, and Mom contrasts nicely by wearing a dark-colored shirt.
Throughout the session, we chose a variety of different poses and a variety of pictures, to ensure that this mom had memories to live by. We stuck to the pink-and-white color scheme. This scheme places all of our pictures together as a collection.
