This cake smash session was very special to me. Not only did I get a really awesome theme suggestion from mom, but I got to do it for one of my previous clients.
Amalia and her brother have been photographed by me since their birth. I have had the privilege to do their newborn pictures, and now their cake smash pictures!
When mom called me up, she had an idea I was very excited about. I had never done this theme before!
Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Of course, we changed it to “Breakfast at Amalia’s” for baby Amalia.
Getting Ready for Our Session
The first part of getting ready for this session was of course putting together a fitting backdrop, props, and outfit.
We found this cute outfit on Etsy, and when mom sent me the link, I knew we had to use it!
As for the backdrop and decor to set the scene, I created this by hand. In fact, I do this for every cake smash session. To prepare our scene, I put a cute park bench out, created a store front for Amalia’s, and placed some fluffy pom-poms in the backdrop for detail.
During the session, Amalia was so happy! She was very excited to get her pictures done. However, she wasn’t really excited about the cake. This happens a lot for babies that have never had cake before, but no worries! She loved playing with her costume jewelry.
Overall, the session was an absolute blast! I love when my client’s come in with unique themes.
