Family Photography Session | Baby Photographer Randall Island NY
In New York City, Randall’s and Wards Islands, located between Manhattan and Queens… a hidden gem of NYC, has stores, a library, a school, a satellite college campus, living neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and much more. The last time I was on the Island was before 2006 when I worked in EMS.
Before the COVID pandemic, the parents reached out to us to schedule the session. However, given the state of the world, we had to postpone it until it was safe to do so. Finally, the time came, we settled on the day, time and parents requested the location – Randall’s island.
I got to the Rock early and took a quick drive throughout the area. It was nice to reminisce for a while and then went to our location and got to work. Mom and dad were really excited about their family portrait session but also nervous about how things would turn out. Not uncommon and totally understandable as no one really knows how the baby will act that day. All babies have their own personality and can be adventurous, shy, playful, serious, happy, curious and the list goes on but most of all unpredictable 🙂 In any case, I love doing sessions with toddlers and older children as I enjoy all the personality and characteristics that transpire during my time with them. Their expressions are such a delight to photograph. I love being silly and playing with them as seeing them smile, giggle, make a funny face, or any expressions they decide to give the camera are such a delight.
