Before becoming a professional photographer, Joseph spent years serving others through healthcare. He’s a critical care nurse in the ICU at Mount Sinai Brooklyn, where he has supported patients and families through some of their most difficult moments. (Mount Sinai Today)
During his time there, Joseph witnessed firsthand the emotional weight that loss brings. Wanting to offer families something meaningful to remember their loved ones by, he created a “Message in a Bottle” keepsake—featuring a patient’s last meaningful heartbeat and a note of sympathy.
